Every graduate research candidate at ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ is supported by a dedicated supervisory team, led by a Principal Supervisor and supported by at least one Co?supervisor, all of whom are accredited by the University. Depending on your research, your team may also include Associate Supervisors or End?user Associate Supervisors (such as industry or community experts), giving you a well?rounded and collaborative supervision experience.

Your supervision team will work closely with you to:

• Shape and refine your research project, ensuring it is rigorous, focused and achievable
• Develop key research skills, including academic writing, critical thinking and effective research communication
• Provide regular feedback and guidance, with consistent meetings to help you stay on track as your research evolves
• Connect you to academic, industry and community networks, supporting collaboration and broader research impact
• Guide you in publishing, grants and scholarships, and help you plan your next steps during and after your degree
• Support you through academic, ethical and personal challenges, helping you navigate your research journey with confidence

No. It’s not mandatory to contact or identify a supervisor before submitting your application. If you’re successful, ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ will allocate a suitably qualified and accredited supervisory team as part of the admissions process.

You’re welcome to contact academics before applying to discuss your research ideas. However, an indication of interest from a potential supervisor does not guarantee admission to the program, nor does it guarantee that they will be appointed to your supervisory team.

The availability of appropriate supervision is assessed as part of your application, in line with ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´’s .

No, supervisors are normally not required to be at the same campus location as the candidate.
