The Institute for Religion, Politics and Society (IRPS) has launched the annual conversation series to encourage prominent Australian and international leaders across politics, the law, and society to share their personal faith journey and how this has shaped their values and approach to leadership.

Institute Director Dr Joshua Roose said, “It is an honour to introduce two leaders who embody this ‘self-sacrifice and personal dedication for the benefit of the community’ and indeed who personify thoughtfulness, training and experience. We are privileged to welcome two guests who have lived parallel lives of public service inspired by their faith, and in doing so, have made truly exceptional national and global contributions to the common good.

“The Institute for Religion, Politics and Society has an expansive intellectual vision to examine and analyse the ways in which religion and faith influence the world around us. We frame our work within the concept of how to better understand what makes successful societies rather than looking only at failure and breakdown.

“This conversation series is one mechanism through which we seek to draw attention to the pivotal role that faith and religion play in shaping the world around us and the positive role that they can play in addressing global challenges.”
