The Global Safeguarding Alliance (GSA) was established on 23 September 2020 by a group of eight institutions and one individual expert in the field of safeguarding. Their vision was for GSA to promote safeguarding to academic, teaching, and research institutions, as well as practice-oriented professional schools and individual experts.
We bring to our global audience information about the kind of safeguarding strategies being used across the Church in other countries, and analyses of how effective they are. We share knowledge about safeguarding strategies used in different contexts such as education, ministry and social work. This can also help increase knowledge about different types of research design.
We reach our audience using a range of channels and formats, including webinars, a newsletter and social media platforms. Read more about our newsletter and subscribe.
In order to achieve the aims the GSA members consult and seek advice from survivors for many of the projects undertaken. A main focus of the work of the GSA will be jointly developed global standards for academic programs, certificates and safeguarding systems and their adaption to the local level. The GSA is open to any institutions that is open to pursuing the same main topics and goals.
