This project was an evaluation of the Arch pilot, which involved the establishment of multidisciplinary centres for victims and survivors of sexual harm. The evaluation assessed the extent to which the Arch pilot was implemented as intended and achieved desired service level outcomes.
We supported a number of youth-serving organisations run surveys to monitor their culture of child safety and evaluate strategies and interventions. The study aimed to help participating organisations identify characteristics of children and young people who were feeling unsafe, to measure the capabilities of staff and volunteers to safeguard children and young people, and to use the data to investigate trends and broad results across all participating organisations, inform further research, policy development and child-safe strategies
Part of Dr Gabrielle Hunt’s PhD research, this project examined the prevalence of child sexual abuse in Australian faith-based settings, and the prevalence of peer sexual harassment in Australia and the characteristics of adolescent inflicted sexual abuse and harassment. It investigated the strengths and weaknesses of current safeguarding practices in faith-based settings and provides evidence-based recommendations to improve safeguarding practices by addressing the unique cultural and organisational challenges within faith-based settings.
