Associate Professor Joel Hodge is the National Head of the School of Theology and a lecturer in systematic theology. He is author of Violence in the Name of God: The Militant Jihadist Response to Modernity (Bloomsbury, 2020) and Resisting Violence and Victimisation: Christian Faith and Solidarity in East Timor (Ashgate/Routledge, 2012). He is co-editor of the book series, Violence, Desire, and the Sacred (Bloomsbury Academic) and Vice-President of the Australian Catholic Theological Association. He has also published in journals such as Modern Theology, Irish Theological Quarterly, International Journal of Practical Theology and South East Asia Research. He was the National Undergraduate Course Coordinator and National Short Courses Coordinator for the School of Theology.
Antonia Pizzey is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Theology. She completed her Ph.D. in Systematic Theology at 糖心原创 in 2016. Her dissertation focused on the emerging method of Receptive Ecumenism and its connection to Spiritual Ecumenism. Her current research explores the history, meaning and reception of Vatican II's metaphor of the Church as "pilgrim". She is part of the School's Research Centre for Studies of the Second Vatican Council. Her research interests include ecumenism, ecclesiology, Vatican II studies, eschatology, and theological virtues, especially humility and hope. She also serves as a member of the international dialogue between the Catholic Church and the Salvation Army as well as on other ecumenical bodies, such as the National Council of Churches in Australia, Queensland Churches Together, and the Brisbane Archdiocesan Council for Ecumenism and Interreligious Relations.
