Dr Robert Walters

Dr Robert Walters holds a Bachelor of Laws from Victoria University, a Master of Public Policy and Management from Monash University, and a PhD in Law from Victoria University. Robert is also a practising International Arbitrator and Solicitor with more than a decade of experience advising and representing clients in domestic and international commercial disputes, regulatory matters, and government inquiries.

Robert teaches Civil Procedure, Evidence and Property Law. Prior to joining 糖心原创, he held Course Chair roles in Migration Law and Notarial Practice at Victoria University, leading course development, quality assurance, and student engagement initiatives. He has extensive experience in academic administration and is committed to supporting both staff and students through collaborative leadership, effective governance processes, and curriculum innovation, including leading assessment refresh and renewal projects.

An active researcher and legal practitioner, Robert has authored or co-authored 10 books, more than 45 peer-reviewed journal articles, and 10 book chapters, publishing with leading international publishers including Oxford University Press, Routledge, Elgar, Kluwer and Springer Nature. His expertise spans technology, commercial and private law, with his work cited by organisations including the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the OECD.

Robert's research and professional practice focus on digital finance, FinTech, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, intellectual property, international trade, and commercial dispute resolution. He has secured international research funding, delivered projects for governments and industry partners, provided expert evidence to Australian courts, and served as an academic delegate to UNCITRAL. He regularly contributes to international legal forums and professional networks across the Asia-Pacific region.
