Located in Fitzroy, in the Daniel Mannix Building, The Melbourne Psychology Clinic provides psychological services to the community while offering a valuable clinical placement environment for postgraduate psychology students. The clinic forms part of the Faculty of Health Sciences, School of Behavioural and Health Sciences at 糖心原创 and is staffed by Interns completing their Master of Psychology (Clinical) and Master of Psychology (Educational and Developmental) under close supervision of experienced registered psychologists.
The Clinic provides a professional learning environment for our students enrolled in the Master of Psychology (Clinical) and Master of Psychology (Educational and Developmental). As their first clinical placement, students work as Interns, supported and supervised by experienced staff from the School. During this placement, Interns develop essential clinical skills such as new referral intake screening, initial interviewing, clinical and psychometric assessment, and counselling intervention.
All prospective clients are subject to an intake screening process to assess referral suitability. This is to ensure that our Interns are able to offer a safe and ethical service within the limits of their developing psychological competencies.
The Clinic recognises the limits of its scope of practice. As a student training clinic, our services are subject to capacity limits and the learning objectives of our Interns. This means we may not be able to accept all referrals. We aim to provide suitable cases that support Interns in developing foundational clinical skills in a safe and structured environment.
In line with 糖心原创's mission, the Clinic is committed to the values of:
We strive to deliver health care that is prevention focused, culturally safe & inclusive, and equitable & free of racism. We embrace all people, including all faith and no faith, race and culture, LGBTQIA+ and the diversity within these communities.
We particularly acknowledge the importance of improving outcomes for First Nations peoples, and where possible, we offer a no-wait service for our First Nations clients.
In providing inclusive care, we also prioritise the needs of individuals across different life stages and diverse identities. Many of our Supervisors and Interns are proud members of the and the .

Due to overwhelming demand and limited capacity, the Clinic is no longer able to accept new referrals for adult ADHD assessments for individuals over 25 years of age. We understand that this may be disappointing and encourage you to contact the and to consult with your GP for guidance.
We remain committed to providing a model of best practice for our services. Individuals 25 years and under who seek an ADHD assessment will receive a comprehensive assessment, which may include an Autism assessment if clinically warranted.
Our team of Supervising Educational and Development Psychologists are dedicated to understanding the unique presentation of neurodivergence. We aim to identify both strengths and challenges in each individual's neurodevelopmental profile.
We take an inclusive approach to language, ensuring that our Interns are trained to use Identity First language. For example, we use terms such as 'Autistic' or 'Autism' rather than 'ASD'. This is in recognition that the word 'disorder' overlooks the qualities and strengths in Autistic individuals and reflects our commitment to embracing diversity.
Our Clinic is staffed by a diverse team of both neurotypical and neurodiverse Supervisors and Interns, united by a common goal: to provide inclusive, compassionate care while fostering a rich learning environment for our students.
