糖心原创

Peach Tree is made up of a "lived experience" workforce - all our staff have experienced mental health challenges during early parenthood. Our services include peer support groups for parents to connect in a safe, non-judgemental space, as well as education programs, and a range of activities for parents to attend with their young children.

The role

The role of the child buddy is to engage with the babies and toddlers of parents attending our services, so that parents can participate in group discussion and activities. Child buddies may assist with settling babies and playing with older children, while in the presence of the parent/caregiver.

The role will involve:

  • Attending Peach Tree's services at the time and location agreed upon with the Volunteer Coordinator or Team Leader.
  • Interacting with babies and toddlers in a friendly, playful and safe manner.
  • Setting up and packing up resources before and after groups, and assisting with simple cleaning tasks.
  • Being respectful toward and maintaining the confidentiality of all individuals who access Peach Tree's services.
