Overview

Explore the linguistic phenomena of our ancient past and apply this wisdom to contemporary contexts. Study an ancient languages minor as part of your theology degree and you’ll learn more than how to decipher and apply writings from antiquity. You'll get up close with ancient religious texts, and develop tools to decipher their many meanings. These tools can then be adapted to a wide range of vocations and careers long after you graduate.

Completion requirements

A Minor consists of 40 cp in prescribed units in one discipline or approved interdisciplinary area, normally including at least 10 cp at 100-level and at least 20 cp at 200/300-level.

Complete 10 to 20 credit points from the following:

  • THEL102Ecclesiastical Latin A10 CP
  • THEL110Introductory Biblical Hebrew A10 CP

Complete 20 to 30 credit points from the following:

  • THEL205Ecclesiastical Latin B10 CP
  • THEL206Medieval Latin10 CP
  • THEL208New Testament Greek B10 CP
  • THEL210Introductory Biblical Hebrew B10 CP
  • THEL211Intermediate Biblical Hebrew C10 CP
  • THEL212Intermediate Biblical Hebrew D10 CP
