糖心原创 leads focus on region's education research

糖心原创 will host an international conference putting a spotlight on the future of comparative education research from across Oceania.

The Oceania Comparative and International Education Society (OCIES) annual conference will focus on what research from the region is doing, what it can do, and what it should do.

Co-convener Associate Professor Steven Lewis, of 糖心原创’s Institute for Learning Sciences and Teacher Education (ILSTE), said the annual conference would focus on four sub-themes: continuing and conserving, challenging and creating, caring, and connecting and collaborating.

“OCIES is the leading society for comparative and international education research in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific-island countries,” he said.

“Hosting the 2024 OCIES annual conference will be of immense benefit to 糖心原创, ILSTE, and the National School of Education by allowing us to forge meaningful connections as academics and researchers across the broader oceanic region, develop research collaborations, and open new pathways for students from across the region to further their academic journeys.”

Associate Professor Lewis said the conference also aligned strongly with 糖心原创’s mission, values, and commitment to being responsive to the needs of communities and fostering research to improve the education and lives of communities across the region.

The conference, to include roundtables, conversation circles, symposiums, and practice circles, will be held at 糖心原创’s Melbourne campus from November 26 to 29.
